Just like most dog owners, digital content creator and influencer Ashley Yi is a proud mom to her dog named Nimbus. She spoils him like he was her own child and would always make sure that he’s safe and comfortable.
Ashley wants only the best for Nimbus and would go to lengths to make sure he’s always happy. Unfortunately, Nimbus was in a terrible accident that left both his hind legs paralyzed. He tried jumping off the top of the couch and slipped when he landed.
Ashley witnessed the freak accident. She stated that seeing Nimbus crying in pain also made her cry. The horrible accident left Nimbus’ two hind legs paralyzed and could only move by crawling.
Ashley rushed Nimbus to the animal hospital where she met a veterinary neurologist named Dr. Melissa Andruzzi. Nimbus was diagnosed with FBE or fibrocartilaginous embolism, which was basically a stroke located on the spinal cord. Although the outlook for Nimbus being able to walk again wasn’t good, Ashley refused to give up on him.
Ashley was determined to help him walk again and always made sure to keep his spirits up and never let Nimbus see her sad or cry. It was her number one rule to help Nimbus recover.
Ashley started Nimbus on a variety of treatments. He was getting physical therapy, underwater treadmill sessions, and even acupuncture, and cold and heat laser therapy. Ashley even got massages for Nimbus to stimulate his paralyzed limbs.
Even at home, Ashley continued Nimbus’ therapy and gave him little fun exercises just to keep him moving. However, she does make sure that his muscles don’t get too sore and gives him plenty of time to rest and just cuddle with her. Ashley made sure to always take him outdoors. This made sure that he doesn’t get depressed and also encourage him to heal.
Eventually, miracles started to happen only a few weeks after the incident. Nimbus was no longer in pain and he became his old happy self again. Little by little, Nimbus started walking again. Thanks to the love and care Ashley showed Nimbus, he was able to heal quite fast. Now, Nimbus is already running and back to full health. Here’s a video featuring Nimbus’ story and how his mom never gave up on him.
