Serenity, a four-year-old Siberian Husky, doesn’t have the looks of a typical dog. Nevertheless, she remained high-spirited, energetic, and playful like most average dogs. Despite her condition, the pooch is certainly living her life to the fullest.
Serenity was a once stray pup from San Antonio, Texas, who has a facial deformity caused by a large tumor. Due to how she looks, for quite some time, she found herself often overlooked for adoption while in the shelter. Serenity made her way out of the Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform to have another chance in life.
In Dallas, Texas, Serenity met with her new foster mom Patti Dawson. According to Patti, the pooch was one bubbly pup at first glance. She even got by with her easily as she showered her with kisses right away and craved for cuddles and hugs in exchange.
Despite Serenity’s situation medical-wise, the pup was fluky she can still do things normally even though bones had dominated her face. The pooch also showed no pain and discomfort as yet. Patti, on her end, is still hopeful although she knew deep inside her heart that Serenity will cross the rainbow bridge sooner or later.
Patti then decided to make Serenity’s who-knows-how-long time a little extra special with that thought in mind. Aside from spoiling her with tasty meals, she also indulged the pup in loads of playtime. She even exerted herself in hiring a photographer for Serenity’s photoshoot to encourage donations online to shoulder the pooch’s expenses.
As soon as Serenity’s story and amazing photos reached the world of social media, many were willing to help by any means. Not long after that, donations began to pour in like crazy. With more than 300 care packages plus goodies so far, Serenity was without a doubt loved.
Truly, Serenity is a reminder for us to stay positive despite the tribulations. Indeed, there is a life beyond infirmity. Just like how the pooch didn’t take her life for granted and stayed upbeat every single day, so should we.
