These guide dogs help not only the blind people around them but also their fellow dogs; it can be said that they are better at guarding or teaching where the person they are helping is right.
It is not only done for the good, but they do it to help, especially to make our daily activities easier.
One such dog is the 10-year-old Golden Retriever, whose name is human. Human life has not been easy, especially when it comes to the unexpected occurrence of being diagnosed with glaucoma; it is damage to the nerve that connects the eye and brain, causing poor eye fluid drainage.
Owner Melanie first discovered her pet’s strange behavior by scratching her eyes and roaring. In an unexpected event, the vet told Melanie that Tao’s second eye would be removed in a few hours.
Life has always been challenging, though. Melanie credits Tao for his fantastic strength and adaptability post-surgery. The two met when Oko was only 11 weeks old, and even just a few months later, the two formed the sweetest bond.
The unique relationship between the two has warmed hearts all over the internet, and they still have a small following on Instagram. While the two adorable Goldens don’t know it, they have a fast-growing Instagram fan base of over 18.5K people who follow their adventures.
Melanie hopes to use the platform to raise awareness for canine glaucoma. She has closely worked with The Kennel Club to use Tao’s DNA as a marker that could help identify other dogs potentially prone to the disease.
