Nick, a middle schooler from Spokane, Washington, discussed his desire to adopt a puppy from a shelter with his parents. He assured them that he would get the funds to cover the adoption fees and other charges associated with bringing the puppy into their house.
They decided to let their 11-year-old son get a pet, but stipulated a few rules. It is his sole responsibility to feed, exercise, and clean up after the dog.
Nick gladly consented. With parental consent in hand, he began raising the necessary finances. What followed was a very motivational tale, and it went viral online.
Nick’s plan to generate income consisted of two business enterprises. The first was to create a lemonade business where he anticipated earning between $20 and $30 per day. The remaining funds would be produced through odd activities such as mowing lawns. The child was extremely determined to obtain a pet and was willing to work hard to achieve his goal.
This greatly amazed his neighbors and friends. As word of the boy’s plans spread, more individuals came to his aid. Even nearby companies began advertising Nick’s lemonade stand. Some even contributed money without requesting their beverage.
When state troopers visited his booth, he received the most attention and support. When the first police car pulled up to the boy’s residence, he feared he was in danger. Nick feared that they would close him down because he lacked a legitimate authorization.
Then, though, additional patrol cars came, and the young man was suddenly selling lemonade to six state troopers. Their encouragement increased business even further. Nick was able to earn more than $1500 after several days. More than he required.
Nick and his mother were astounded by the generosity and warmth of their town. Their support was an example to all children, reminding them that perseverance and effort lead to success.
They will shortly search for a dog to adopt from a shelter.
