Unhealthy skin is common among abandoned dogs. Fortunately, their skin disease can be cured with proper treatment and care. If they’re in the hands of a capable guardian, their skin condition will drastically improve.
A dog rescuer named Angela Mincolla got a notification about a puppy needing help on her Facebook page. It was a small pit bull who had severe mange. Without a second thought, she got in her car and immediately went to pick up that dog.
Angela brought the puppy to a veterinarian. She took the dog home to provide further care that same night. No doubt that she had picked up a tough and resilient dog.
Angela named the puppy Delilah and gradually worked on making the dog healthier. The first few days went rather well, but something changed on the seventh day. Delilah became less energetic, and it was clear that something was wrong with her. The dog had contracted a canine parvovirus infection, so she needed to be hospitalized.
The veterinarian who treated Delilah told Angela that the dog might not make it out alive. Fortunately, five days into the hospitalization, Delilah made a miraculous recovery. On the sixth day, the hospital called Angela, informing her that she could take Delilah home.
Angela was worried that no one would meet her expectations regarding Delilah’s future owner. She became so attached to the dog that she only wanted the best possible adopter. Fortunately, it wasn’t difficult to find the perfect adopter for Delilah.
One of the people who were interested in adopting Delilah was Melissa. Angela decided to bring Delilah to that woman’s place to see if she liked it. The dog showed signs of satisfaction while inside Melissa’s home. At that point, Angela knew that she no longer needed to look somewhere else for an adopter.
