Streetdog Foundation, an organization based in Memphis, helps in finding new homes for abandoned and stray dogs. Hence, when its founders Kent and Melanie Pafford discovered a dog under a dumpster, they immediately helped it and brought it to the vet for consultation.
The rescue team from Streetdog Foundation found out that the dog had been used as a bait dog, resulting in numerous wounds and gashes all over its body. They couldn’t hide their sadness when they learned that the dog’s life had been miserable. In response to that, they gave it their full attention, provided its needs and let it feel cared for and loved.
At first, the dog appeared to be wary of Kent, Melanie, and the other volunteers, choosing to trust an orange-crocheted dog toy instead. The dog, which they named Liam, began playing with the toy, and it became a symbol of trust for him. Over time, Liam developed a more positive attitude toward his surroundings, and he started to trust others once again.
When Liam fully recovered, a woman named Tammy Hardison became his foster mom, and she showered him with so much love. Now, Liam is already under the care of his new mom, Leslie Owen, and her family. According to Leslie, Liam is just the sweetest boy, and she can’t express her gratitude for having him in her life.
Liam also found a new best friend in his new home. Her name is Dalia, and she also used to be a street dog but now lives a wonderful life. The two are always together and they both love their homemade dog foods and unlimited toys.
Liam’s life story may not have started well, but it reminds us that happy endings are possible no matter what situation you are going through. Watch Liam’s rescue story in the video below.
