Weslie and Enes, also known as The Compass Couple on Instagram, have been to several countries. They love to travel and take scenic photos in each place that they visit.
Among the places they visited, Turkey was one of their memorable destinations because they unexpectedly found something that captured their hearts.
While on vacation in Cappadocia, Turkey, the couple saw a tiny puppy on the side of the road. They stopped to check it out, and noticed that it was injured. It looked like someone spray-painted it with blue paint on the side. They felt so bad for the puppy and thought it was a case of animal cruelty.
So, they decided to wrap the puppy in their travel towel and brought him to their hotel. They named him Blue because of the blue ink on his body. The couple called their veterinarian friend in the U.S., and he gave them detailed instructions on how to care for the puppy’s wound.
However, that night, Blue started whimpering. His temperature rose, and he started panting as if struggling to breathe. So Weslie and Enes decided to bring him to a local veterinarian at two o’clock in the morning.
According to the vet, Blue possibly fell from the hill, which caused the wound on his side. The blue ink on him was antiseptic, probably given by a shepherd or someone who showed kindness for the pup. The antiseptic prevented infection, but if Weslie and Enes did not find him, he would not have survived the night.
The couple did their best to nurse Blue to his health. And as soon as he was well, they brought him back to Colorado when they went home. They fell in love with him and could not leave him behind in Turkey.
Sadly, the couple could not have Blue forever because they were always traveling. So, they looked for a new family who could love him as much as they did. Thankfully, they found a forever home for Blue. His new family gave him an enthusiastic welcome, and their other dog named Bogey became Blue’s instant best friend.
