When Gemma McAdam and her girlfriend returned from a night out, Pogo, their springer spaniel, greeted them at the door as usual. They’re shocked, however, when they saw red fluid covering Pogo’s chest and his paws. The couple was so anxious about Pogo’s appearance that they were about to have a heart attack.
Gemma eventually raced through the house looking for whatever might’ve injured Pogo, while her girlfriend stayed where she was, petting the dog to reassure him. When Gemma and her girlfriend noticed that the dog seemed to be in a good mood despite being hurt, they decided to investigate further. They soon came to realize that the dog was not really hurt.
They remembered that Poco wasn’t the kind of dog who would hide his pain. He would have told them if something was wrong with him. The couple examined the red stain on the dog’s body and realized that it wasn’t blood.
It was just some red dye that he must’ve gotten his hands on while they were away. It was really such a relief to know that their dog was not really hurt. Even if the dog got mischievous at times, they still couldn’t deny that they loved the dog very much.
Gemma called the vet, and the good news was that the red dye was not harmful to Pogo. However, it seemed that the red hue on Pogo’s body wouldn’t go away anytime soon. Gemma and her girlfriend tried to get the stain off Pogo, but the stubborn red color seemed to be more difficult to remove than they thought.
The couple continued looking for solutions online until someone suggested that the water from the beach would help them remove the red mark from Pogo’s body. They wasted no time and went to the beach that very week. Hopefully, the dog already learned his lesson and will never come into contact with red dye ever again.
