Megan Wedge, an office employee for a plant in Dalton, Georgia, is known to her colleagues as an avid dog lover. She has her own rescue dog and finds the time to help canines in need. So when two of her officemates saw an injured pooch limping near their facility, they immediately informed her,
Megan immediately went out and saw the poor dog fall down on the pavement. She tried to get up, but she would stumble again. It was apparent that one of her back legs was broken and couldn’t handle the weight. She had to help.
Foster
The kind lady took the dog home, gave her a bath, removed her fleas, and gave her a good place to rest her injured leg. She didn’t want to take her to a shelter as she couldn’t ensure the canine would get the care she needed. Megan wanted to see her go to a loving permanent home.
When she talked to her sister Sarah, who lives in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Megan learned she wanted to help. She was going to take the dog and get her medical treatment. When they got to a vet, Sarah was given a surprise.
A large litter
As expected, the tests showed the dog had back injuries probably caused by a car accident. The vet also found a buckshot in her body. That’s not all, the abused pooch, named Izzy by Sarah, was pregnant. A few weeks later, she gave birth to nine puppies.
Sarah took care of Izzy and her babies and made sure all of them were healthy. The older dog needed to get a costly hip surgery, and they delayed it a bit to raise the funds needed. This also gave her time to take care of her litter. Being a new mom lifted her spirits despite having discomforts.
When all of her babies found their forever homes, Izzy finally had her operation. Everything went well, and she is now formally adopted by Sarah.
