We all know that all doggos love to run, especially if they have a little extra energy to spare. So seeing dogs do zoomies is a normal occurrence as they expend their last reserves of energy just in time for nap time.
So when a race was cooking in Utah one fine day, it came as no surprise that the one who won the race was not a contestant. Rather, a local dog rushed into the track to join in on the fun of running. Not to mention, he didn’t just win the race, but he won the hearts of the people as well.
The local race started rather uneventfully. Naturally, competitors were eager to win the big race and show off their speed to the onlookers. But just before the 4×200 meter race was about to start, a surprise competitor already had his eyes on the prize.
As the camera started rolling, seven runners started the arduous task of sprinting towards the finish line. This was a 4×200 meter relay, which means they have to run half a lap or 200 meters before passing the race to the next team member. So, all in all, four runners will be running 200 meters each to complete the track.
When the final set of runners begins to run, one creates a big gap between her and the next runner. She’s sure that she is going to win the race! But when she’s on the final stretch, a surprise competitor runs into the track — a white, hairy, little ball of fur that sprinted with ease towards the race leader.
Audience members were cheering the pup on as he outran the rest of the runners and headed towards the leader. However, just before the race leader crosses the finish line, the dog had already caught up, even slowing down to stay with the runner. Eventually, the dog crosses the finish line before the runner could, and to us, he is the winner. Good job, though, to the runner who won second place to the pup.
