You can save a life even in your own little ways. This is something that one Amazon driver proved after she saved three dogs from a house fire. She did so by making a quick phone call to the authorities.
Here’s her inspiring story of heroism.
The incident
An unidentified woman was working in North Central Florida when she spotted smoke rising from a house nearby. She quickly phoned 911 to alert the authorities about the situation.
Although there was no one home at the time, there were three dogs present. Thanks to the woman’s quick wits, the dogs, which are all Boston Terriers, were saved.
The Columbia County Fire Rescue shared the story on their Facebook page. They thanked the woman for her effort.
The fire department even uploaded some pictures of the rescue. In the photos below, the dogs were being treated by members of the emergency team.
Lisa Ann Dunn, the mother of the pooches’ owner, said that the dogs did well despite being confined to the hospital. She added that their gratitude to those who helped would never be enough.
Dunn said that the three dogs lost their toys, bowls, and beds to the fire. She explained, though, that one of the rescuers helped them tremendously by paying the deductibles for the dogs’ care at the hospital.
Here’s what Facebook users have to say
The rescue story shared online by the Columbia County Fire Rescue received more than 700 likes and over 500 shares. It also had a handful of positive comments.
A lot of people commended the unnamed Amazon driver for her heroism. One even hoped that the company would not punish her for taking too long on her route.
One of the commenters asked Dunn if she had set up an Amazon Wish List page. Apparently, this could get Dunn replacements for the items lost in the fire. Dunn, on the other hand, replied that they had only set up a GoFundMe page. Nevertheless, she said she would mention the idea to her daughter.
