Koko is a Malamute that everyone adores. In addition to being incredibly kind and friendly, he is also extremely adorable. People are drawn to him because he is so receptive and always has a ready smile. He is also quite fluffy with his gorgeous white fur coat.
When Koko passes by the street market, each vendor calls out his name. They frequently have a treat for the dog because they adore him. They anticipate his arrival and cease their activities as the dog goes from stall to stall.
Koko already anticipates receiving something tasty to eat from the vendors. So he visits each booth and spends a minute or two snacking and interacting with them.
Koko and his owner typically spend nearly thirty minutes just going down the street. His owner does not mind, since he is pleased that so many people adore his dog.
One day, the owner observed that Koko continued to grow larger and larger. He also became less active.
He brought the dog to the veterinarian for an examination. On the weighing scale, he weighed in at over 120 pounds. He was really obese. When the results of the dog’s blood test came back, they revealed that he had deficiencies in his kidneys and liver.
This simply meant that he needed to change his diet.
The veterinarian suggested a more healthy and balanced diet as well as vigorous exercise. Koko despised all of it.
He rarely goes on walks and usually takes breaks. Whenever he encounters an elevation or steps, he flatly refuses to proceed.
Fortunately, when brought to a dog park, he runs and plays with the other dogs. Hopefully, he will continue doing this.
As for his street market admirers, he continues to visit them. This time, though, he wears a sign around his neck indicating that he is on a diet and will not accept too many treats.
