The staff of an animal shelter in California discovered a dog named Pandora inside a box left on their doorstep. The poor animal was extremely dirty and had wounds all over her body. They took Pandora to a vet, and after examining the dog, the vet discovered that aside from her wounds, Pandora also had cancerous lumps on her body.
Fortunately, after several surgeries, the dog’s life was out of danger and she was able to make a full recovery. A family eventually adopted Pandora, who treasures and loves her very much. Many people sadly give up their pets because they don’t have enough money to care for them.
Others left their pets behind because they’re moving and can’t take them along. Other times, pet owners get new jobs that require them to travel frequently, or they decide they should not have a pet because they live alone and don’t have time to care for one. Some people just don’t want their pets anymore.
They may have had a lifestyle change or changed their minds about the type of pet they wanted. Or maybe they thought it would be fun to own a pet but later realized it wasn’t all that great after all, so they gave it away. If this happens to you, then consider contacting a rescue group or shelter first before making the final decision to rehome your animal.
Try to consider talking to anyone who can offer advice on how best to proceed. If you prefer to find a new home for your canine, consider placing an ad online or in your local newspaper. Some shelters also offer free listings for rehoming purposes and may be able to help you look for a good home for your dog.
Owning a pet requires a lot of responsibility. They need time, love, and tons of attention. If you are not sure if you can take on these responsibilities, then it is best not to get one.
