One thing similar to homeless dogs is their refusal to get saved because of their trust issues caused by a bad past. It is a good thing that there are rescuers who never give up on them, just like Eldad Hagar, the founder of a nonprofit animal rescue organization called Hope For Paws.
The organization received an emergency notification from a local informing them about a stray dog hit by a car. The witness told them that it had been days ever since the accident happened, but what was worrying was how the dog had no choice but to endure her injuries. Hagar knew he had to be at the venue as soon as possible, so he did not mind going there alone. Besides, he did not imagine the dog would be difficult to rescue, given that she got physically hurt.
When Hagar found the dog, she was staying under a car. He went near her without thinking she still had the strength to fight him. He was shocked that she began to show her teeth and growl as he approached her. Hagar stepped back for a while, only to calm her down.
Hagar thought of a brilliant way to grab the dog: by surrounding the car with a fence so she needed somewhere to pass by. He also prepared a leash, which he used to get the dog. His ways were slowly but surely. He looked for the perfect timing to capture her until he felt she finally had a change of heart.
She seemed to like the affection already when she was in Hagar’s lap. She was no longer in fight mode, and that was when Hagar decided to give her Arya as a name. He also sent her to a veterinary clinic, where they discovered that she needed surgery due to a broken femur and swallowed stones.
When Arya was discharged from the hospital, they sent her to another organization willing to foster her, the L.A. Animal Rescue. She would continue to live her best life there until she finds a permanent home.
