While driving through a busy Florida intersection, Megan Sorbara spotted a small pooch on the corner. From afar, Megan knew that the pooch felt frightened. During that time, Megan was with her boyfriend, Dominick, so she asked him to take a closer look at the pooch.
Megan is the head of the rescue group Naples Cat Alliance, and as such, she is trained to rescue stray animals. Although they only cater to cats, Megan felt that she had to help the poor pooch. This is why she did not think twice about taking the pooch to their shelter.
When Megan was sure that the pooch was a stray, she gave her the name Bitsy. Megan and Dominick first brought the pooch to the veterinarian to check whether Bitsy has a microchip. This was the time that Megan learned that the dog has no family. As such, she and her boyfriend took the pooch under their care.
After their visit to the veterinarian, Megan brought the pooch home, where she gave Bitsy a good bath. Afterward, the dog ate her dinner and went to sleep. The next morning, Bitsy joined Megan to the animal shelter, where the latter works.
At first, Megan thought that the pooch would find it hard to be with the cats. But it turned out that Bitsy would become an excellent addition to the team. Megan said that the dog instantly felt a connection with some cats of the shelter. This is why Megan thought of using this to her advantage.
The volunteers from the shelter then trained Bitsy to look after the cats and ensure their safety. According to the volunteers, Bitsy did her job extraordinarily well. This is why Megan believes that she made the right choice to take the pooch for good.
