Some dogs’ stories don’t always have a happy beginning. But that doesn’t mean that such tales will not have a good ending. A pit bull mix named Huck has a story that is very much similar to that.
Huck was rescued from miserable and dirty living conditions. He was obviously abused. But just when everyone thought that he wouldn’t recover from his trauma, he proved that he could still live a happy life.
Rescuing Huck from his troubled life
Earlier this year, Huck was rescued from a hoarding situation together with other dogs. The Santa Rosa County Animal Services initially handled the entire case. However, it eventually sought the help of other animal shelters because of the number of dogs that needed to be rescued. Ultimately, the Citrus County Animal Services ended up taking care of Huck.
When Huck shortly arrived at the shelter, he was so afraid that he wouldn’t want to walk. Despite his fear, he showed how sweet he was. Colleen Yarbrough, one of the directors of Citrus County Animal Services, said that all Huck wanted to do was crawl into someone’s lap, thus revealing his friendly side.
Huck is thriving
It didn’t take too long before Huck got adopted. A kind woman named Pamela Rice arrived at the shelter and decided to take the pooch home. Initially, Pamela planned on adopting a much smaller dog, but Huck managed to captivate her.
Huck is now living in a comfortable and loving home. He now has two equally adorable furry siblings named Beau and Underfoot.
Pamela said that Huck was initially nervous upon arriving at his new home. But because of the kindness of Pamela’s family, the pup quickly found his footing.
Pamela called Huck a perfect dog. She said that he was so chill and good as long as he received lots of hugs, kisses, and of course, food.
