Barney, a Boerboel owned by the Smith family from Australia, recently went viral on the internet. This started when the family shared photos of their pet towering over them. Some people think that the photos are fake, while others believe Barney is not a dog but an exceptionally large stuffed toy.
But Barney was a real dog. He might’ve seemed unreal because of his gigantic size; however, Barney was very much alive. The dog is known to be gentle and affectionate toward his family.
Barney also loves to snuggle and hang out with his family. Big dogs may look scary, but most of them are sweet and gentle. They can be great companions for children, seniors, and everyone in between.
Big dogs are also known to be extremely loyal to their owners. They will stay by your side as long as you want them to. They will defend you against any threat, no matter how big it is.
Big dogs are very friendly with people and other animals. If they see something suspicious or unfamiliar, they will bark loudly to alert you about it. They’re also often more affordable than smaller breeds since they don’t require as much food or medical attention.
Though large dogs make wonderful companions, you should be aware of a few things before bringing one into your home. Big dogs need big homes. If you reside in a cramped apartment, it’s best to stick with a smaller breed.
Bigger breeds require more space, both indoors and out. They also tend to shed more than smaller dogs, and that means hair everywhere. If you have allergies or asthma, these can be real issues for you.
Big dogs aren’t always easy to control. A large dog can easily knock over furniture and break things, especially when it gets playful. Make sure there is really enough space on your property so your dog has room to run around without knocking over anything expensive or dangerous.
