Animal shelters can be quite a stressful environment for dogs, especially older ones. Senior dogs are also the hardest ones to adjust to shelter life especially if they’ve lived with a family before. It’s also quite difficult for them to get adopted since most people prefer adopting younger dogs.
A senior dog named Muneca was already 18-years-old when she was taken to a shelter. Not only that she lost her family, but she also lost her eyesight and had numerous health issues. Muneca found it hard to adjust to life at the shelter and she was terrified of all the other dogs around her. All Muneca wanted was to connect or bond with someone again and to be a part of a family.
During Muneca’s stay at the shelter, she happened to meet a person volunteering at the shelter named Elaine Seamans. Elaine and Muneca instantly had a connection and Muneca didn’t want to let go of Elaine. It was also perfect timing since a photographer was visiting the shelter and was able to capture everything in his camera. The cameraman, John Hwang, posted the photos of Muneca clinging into the arms of Elaine and posted them on social media.
This quickly caught the attention of a rescue group called Frosted Faces Foundation who took Muneca to a veterinarian to get a thorough examination. After that, Muneca was placed in foster care with a loving family who spoiled her and gave her the comfortable life that she deserved. Although there’s only a small chance that Muneca would get adopted, her rescuers and her foster family hope that she would find the perfect forever home where she will live out the rest of her life in comfort.
Muneca is a sweet senior dog that definitely deserves to live out the rest of her life in the arms of a family who will love her and give her the attention she needs. All Muneca wants is for someone to be there for her until the day she passes. Here’s a heartwarming video featuring Muneca’s story which will surely make you reach for those tissues.
