After being abandoned, Eddie the rescue dog had spent at least a month roaming the streets of Washington on his own. Carin Brown of Benton County Animal Control was able to say he was in bad condition when she eventually saved him.
She initially assumed he had been injured as a stray, but she soon learned that it’s much severe. Eddie’s tumor was inoperable, and he had just 6 to 12 months to live.
Eddie is always the sweetest, happiest puppy despite all. Brown knew she had to assist him in every way she could. As a result, animal control contacted Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue for assistance.
Kristi Kesler, a neighbor of Brown’s, decided to be Eddie’s foster mother for the rest of his life. She also gave him the endearing alias of “Eddie Spaghetti.”
Since Eddie didn’t have much time left, Kesler realized she needed to make the most of it. As a result, she compiled a bucket list for him. She was determined to make the rest of his life perfect for him, but it turned out to be much more magical than she had expected.
Eddie’s bucket list came true thanks to the efforts of Kesler, Mikey’s Chance, and the Pasco Police Department. On his bucket list were things like taking selfies with Santa, riding in a sidecar, and running a kissing booth. One by one, he’s been marking them off his list.
Eddie’s bucket list included one of the essential items: being an honorary police K9. As a result, Pasco Police let him work as a K9 officer for the day. Eddie said that he would “apprehend bad guys, hunt for drugs, and imprison people.” He also got his custom-made police uniform, complete with authentic police patches.
Then Eddie got to spend the day as a police K9, which was a lot of fun. He went to the 9-1-1 center and a donut store, among other places. After his workday was over, he even got to swim in a pool full of stuffed animals.
Eddie had a great time spending time with the cops and receiving the attention he deserved. His bucket list, however, does not end there. Many group members have stepped forward to assist him in crossing off yet more things from his to-do list.
Eddie’s story has inspired many people. He may not really have much time left, but his loved ones have aided him in making the most of it. Eddie’s story, hopefully, will inspire more people to be kind and support dogs like him in the future. Every dog is worth it, regardless of the circumstances.
