Most of us have always believed that dogs and cats are natural enemies. We often see them chasing and fighting each other. However, it’s not unheard of that these two very different animals can be friends.
A pit bull named Jack recently became a hero after saving a cat’s life. Jack was staying over at Sherree Lewis’s home when his owner was deployed in Afghanistan. Jack’s owner is Sherree’s son and she didn’t mind taking care of Jack while her son was overseas.
During that time, Sherree also had a pet cat named Kitty who preferred staying outside the house. Sherree knew that Jack is a gentle dog and would get along with Kitty really well. However, Sherree didn’t expect that Jack and Kitty would become very close.
Jack and Kitty bonded and the two would often be seen playing in the yard. Sherree was happy seeing that the two animals are great friends. What Sherree didn’t know was that two wild animals were stalking Kitty.
While Jack and Kitty were playing in the yard, two coyotes suddenly decided that Kitty would be a good meal. One coyote had Kitty by the neck while the other coyote had her by the tail. The two coyotes then proceeded to violently shake Kitty and were trying to rip her body in half.
Thankfully, Jack was nearby and when he saw that Kitty was in trouble, Jack didn’t hesitate to come to her rescue. Jack charged at the two coyotes which scared them off thus saving Kitty’s life. Now, Jack took on the role of Kitty’s protector and the two animals have been inseparable ever since.
Sherree and her son are so proud of Jack for saving Kitty’s life. If it wasn’t for Jack, Kitty would have ended up as food for the two coyotes who attacked her. Here’s a truly amazing video describing how Jack saved Kitty’s life, which turned them into best friends.
