Most fur parents would agree that their pups often get themselves into trouble because of their curiosity. However, in extreme cases, clumsy mistakes could lead to dangerous situations. Thankfully, there are a lot of kind-hearted people who are willing to spring into action when they see pups who need a helping hand.
Just like what happened to a pup named Tinkerbell. It is still not clear how Tinkerbell ended up almost drowning in Jamaica Bay, but it was very evident that the pup was traumatized by that experience. If it wasn’t for some New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers who spotted and quickly took action to save the pup, Tinkerbell wouldn’t have been able to return to her family.
Tinkerbell’s rescue mission started when the Harbor Unit officers of the NYPD were making their rounds by the waters. Soon enough, they noticed a pup fighting for her life in Jamaica Bay. As soon as they saw the pup, the officers didn’t think twice to spring into action.
They rushed to the pup’s side and picked her out of the freezing water and into their arms. The officers dried the pup and wrapped a warm blanket around her. Then, they immediately rushed the pup to the vet to check for any illnesses or injuries.
Fortunately, Tinkerbell was healthy and didn’t sustain any wounds. The police officers also made sure that the pup’s family was aware of what happened to Tinkerbell. Tinkerbell’s family were very relieved to know that she is doing fine and are very thankful to the hardworking officers who did their best to save her life.
Now, Tinkerbell is back home and gaining back all the energy she lost by napping whenever she can. The pup’s family shared a cute photo of Tinkerbell getting her well-deserved rest on a pillow. Tinkerbell’s family also promises to keep a closer watch on their curious pup to make sure she will not get in trouble again. We hope Tinkerbell stays safe always!
